自从他于1975年创办芙中（雪隆）校友会合唱团并担任义务合唱团指导兼指挥，他从未停止活动过。从芙中历年活动记录表，频繁的节目可说是周扬平对艺术文化的贡献，对母校及国家的付出是有目共睹的。

周扬平可说是我国首位及唯一华裔音乐工作者连续出席于加拿大、澳洲、荷兰、美国及日本每三年一度的世界合唱研讨会，把我国的合唱进展介绍与世界各国。周君也是我国首位合唱指挥受邀带团远赴西班牙及墨西哥参加国际合唱节；赴奥地利、韩国、菲律宾等国作音乐文化友谊交流，扮演音乐大使的角色。

现任芙中（雪隆）校友会合唱团和吉隆坡联邦土地发展局合唱团指导兼指挥；马来西亚创价学会合唱团、吉隆坡圆觉圣诗合唱团、吉隆坡弥勒福音合唱团、多媒体大学合唱团指导；国际合唱联盟泛太平洋区常任理事；吉隆坡歌乐协会署理会长；演艺联盟理事。他也曾担任国家合唱团指导兼指挥；马来西亚艺术学院合唱团指导及吉隆坡爱心合唱团指导。

周扬平于1998年曾受委于槟州百余人演唱贝多芬第九交响曲《欢乐颂》的总指导，于1999年受委为星洲日报70周年纪念 "情义人间文化大汇演" 千人合唱团总指导。此外，他也为南洋商报80周年纪念 "黄河大合唱汇演" 350人合唱团为总指导。他也多次担任全国及各州中小学独唱及合唱比赛评审。

Mr Chew Hock Ping

^{Mr Chew Hock Ping graduated from Seremban Chung Hua High School and University of Malaya . He obtained Diploma in Singing from Trinity College of London and Diploma in Computer Applications from OTCA of Tokyo. Presently Mr Chew is the choral conductor of Seremban Chung Hua Alumni Choir, Soka Gakkai Malaysia Choir, and Malaysia Maitreya Choir .}

Besides, he also attended the World Choral Symposium held in Canada, Australia, Holland, USA and Japan and represented Malaysia attending the Asia Pacific Regional Choral Meetings held in Hong Kong , Japan , Holland , Singapore , Korea and USA .}

^{Mr Chew received the most outstanding artistic golden eagle award presented by the association and also the most successful artistic performer awarded by the Hainan Association in Malaysia. Recently he has been appointed as the Cultural Ambassador to Daegu Arts University in Korea.}
